Norm Knight
Norm Knight is the Deputy Director of Flight Operations at NASA Johnson Space Center. He is a Senior Executive Service civil servant with over 30 years of experience whose responsibilities include selection and protection of Astronauts, mission control Flight Directors/Controllers, facilities, and Aircraft operations in support of human spaceflight missions. Norm leads a team of 2,400 civil servants and contractors to oversee the integration, planning, mission execution, and direction of safe human spaceflight operations for the International Space Station (ISS), Exploration, Lunar, and Commercial Crew/Cargo endeavors.
Norm earned a bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and has held increasing roles of responsibility including Flight Director for both the Space Shuttle and International Space Station, Chief Flight Director managing the Flight Director Office, and NASA Headquarters Technical Assistant for the Associate Administrator of Human Spaceflight. Norm has also completed the General Management Program at Harvard Business School.
